I’m planning to go with transcription software to transcribe around 150 interviews.
Please suggest me a good transcription software under budget.
Otter App seems pretty good (and you can upload audio files)
I was listening to a podcast episode by Stephan Spencer, an SEO guru, and he mentioned you can upload any audio or video to YouTube and Google will run their speech recognition algorithm to generate an SRT file, which you can then download and do whatever you want. The YouTube media can be kept private or removed. The SRT file probably needs some corrections, but it is free. I haven’t tried this, but this seems like an interesting hack.
Long time lurker, first time poster!
Here’s another option to consider, built by a fellow bootstrapper (me): Transcribe by Wreally (should be the first link when you google, can’t seem to post links here).
I switched from https://www.rev.com to https://otter.ai about six months ago and have been very happy. It’s low cost, quick turn, and high quality. It’s automated transcription so it’s not as good as a human transcription but it’s close at about 10% of the cost.
