But they are essentially killing the free tier. Instead of 1 dyno that runs 24x7, now it’ll run at most 18x7 by force shutting it down for 6 hours a day. Does anyone know any free alternatives for those free/low-revenue apps?

I’ve been hosting a couple low-traffic sites for free at Red Hat’s https://www.openshift.com

That looks pretty decent actually. Git push deploy, node.js, custom domain, 24x7 uptime. Thanks!
