If someone is not getting the conversions they want I’d add to that also look at your sector/niche (do they buy easily, what is the conversion % in that area), price points (although competing on price is bad news), referral sources, the expectations you set on your marketing pages, your marketing copy in general and competitor features/ease-of-use.
See if you can start pre-qualifying people better at the start of the sales funnel as well, even before the trial starts.
If you are getting a decent amount of trials - but low conversions - maybe you are getting the wrong sort of person start a trial, maybe your niche just doesn’t convert above X%, maybe something wasn’t clear before they started and they feel let down etc, etc.
