Yeah, that’s a bad idea. If the other person is so enthusiastic that they are building a tutorial for you, you should be encouraging them.

Maybe send a polite email asking to work with them. If this other blog ranks better than you, why don’t you help this person write a better tutorial, with your help? They can update the old page with something like “This page is out of date, look at this for a newer version”?
