Adwords - A race to the bottom?

I find they are also becoming more aggressive with trying to schedule a call to go through our Adwords account. It almost seems like the Adwords account management team gets paid for the number of appointments they arrange and the number of accounts they “optimize”.

E.g. this week we had a call from our new “account manager” (which they just randomly assign every quarter so we don’t really have a permanent contact person with them). She mentioned that she would flag our account so that we won’t be able to schedule another call/get advice from their team after I politely declined to set up another “optimization” session next week (as it was always a waste of time and we usually didn’t implement most of the advice we got in the past).

Internally they probably refer to this as “Profit Optimization”.
